Unexpected Empathy
No one could have predicted how the hunters would respond to this request which went against their better nature and source of income. Erikas had pictured the hunters as cruel and heartless men. As it turned out, their first meeting would reveal a vastly different group of professionals. They gave Erikas their word that Emma would be safe from their rifles. They shared Erikas’ sentimentality after spending some time with the wonderfully gentle and playful creature.

These hunters became so taken with Emma and her progress through such overwhelming odds a new rule soon became official among the local hunting community. Moose were now banned from being hunted! Emma was finally safe, but that wasn’t even the best part. What could possibly be better than knowing her life was no longer threatened?
