In the time leading up to her accident, Madelyn had not put a lot of emphasis on leading a healthy lifestyle, and her weight had increased dramatically in recent years. As she was laying in the hospital bed, she started to reconsider her choices and expressed a wish to get her self confidence back up. It was time to lessen the suffering, and for her to do what she could to ensure that she could lead a happier, more active lifestyle.

As Madelyn was waiting for paramedics to arrive after her slip in the tub, she was in such excruciating pain that she could barely move. It was safe to assume that she would be happy to see the medics, but in fact, she asked them to leave when they got there. As it turns out, her self-esteem was so low that she didn’t even believe that she was worthy of accepting treatment and care.
