America is one of the most sought-after countries to live in with many people coming there from all over the world to follow the American Dream. It is no doubt a beautiful place and an eclectic mix of 50 states with 50 cultures, each state has its own belief systems and legal systems too. It’s tough to have a favorite place in such a diverse country or become an offhand expert about what each state is most well known for. Many people from other places in the world tend to smash all the states into one big mess and see all the people who live in America as American, but is it really true that everyone can be classed as American.

In actual fact, each state has its own attractions and unique experiences to offer. Except for Idaho, There’re a million and a half people with nothing to do except peel potatoes at that high school featured in local Napoleon Dynamite, but of course, that was a joke (haha, we got you!)

Maine

Maine is located in the northernmost corner of the country and legend has it that it was discovered by Vikings thousands of years ago. What’s going on in Maine these days? The state is known for its rocky coastline, maritime history, and breathtaking natural attractions like the granite and spruce islands of Acadia National Park. There’s plenty to do and see in Maine but ice fishing remains one of the main attractions and pastimes for tourists and locals.

This Maine resident looks like he’s having a splendid time about to float away on an ice raft! (Ahoy there captain, we think you ought to sober up!) He looks like he’s trying to enjoy the last bit of winter but unfortunately, ice fishing accompanied by beer-drinking can only be enjoyed in peak season but it’s exceptionally cold in the middle of winter, and maybe our fisherman here didn’t want to brave the cold and is trying to get the last bit of fun before the ice completely melts away!
