Winkler may no longer be active in the world of weather reporting, but hers is an amazing story of trial and tribulation. Getting her start in Amarillo TX, she co-hosted a local news show. She was offered a position at ABC’s EyeWitness News before suffering a stroke at the incredibly young age of 24. It was coverage of her inspiring recovery that really brought her into the national spotlight. After the life-changing experience, she stepped back from her career in media, resigning from EWN. She set her sights on furthering her education.

Indra Peterson is an overachiever to the core. Completing a degree in Atmospheric Physics in 2002, she was offered an opportunity with KVIA in El Paso, followed by KEYT in Santa Barbara. Her popularity saw her landing a spot on CNN where she remains a fan favorite with her acute aptitude for getting straight to the heart of matters.
