Intense Research Mission
A lengthy study was conducted on the tracks, and paleontologists were able to discover that there were some types of markings on them known as Ichniotherium. They belong to a group of tetrapods, which are called diadectomorpha, and have never been seen in a desert area before or, in any similar environment in nature. With this discovery, scientists and other researchers alike are able to get a clearer understanding of the types of animals that used to traverse through the Grand Canyon. This is indeed exciting news, and we are eager to learn more about the history being unfolded.

Dr. Heitor Francischini Revelation
According to Dr. Heitor Francischini, a Brazilian paleontologist, made a press release from the NPS that noted the revelation of important information that the fossil tracks would provide as it related to the paleobiology of the diadectomorpha would be diverse. Dr. Francischini noted the existence of the diadectomorpha was a wonder as they are not known to endure in desert-like areas like the Canyon. They do not possess adaptation features that make their existence completely dependent on water. For sure, research was imminent as they needed to unearth the real truth behind such an occurrence.
