The Colorado River arrived with incredible pressure during its time, and this gave it all the power it needed to cut its way through the plateau. What we see today is the Grand Canyon, which is the ravine that was created by the force of the Colorado River. Interestingly, it has been regarded as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Geologists who have been studying the Canyon for years noted that the current depth at which we see it was achieved around 1.2 million years ago. It all started when the spring melted, and the floods of the final ice age decided to release themselves. But there is even more ancient history to be unraveled as this is the same region where Krill made his intriguing discovery.
