The Quiet, Focused Dog
One thing Smith observed right away was that Kyle had gotten a lot quieter than he usually was. Not even one of the treats in his pocket could convince Kyle to divert his gaze and attention elsewhere. The only other time that he had been this focused had been when he was doing his patrol runs with his work partner. What could he have been after, and what was he about to stumble onto?
Burying His Nose
As the trail got more narrow, Kyle was clearly starting to switch back over into his police patrol days. His nose was close to the ground, almost buried in the dirt. Smith couldn’t smell anything significant, but his instincts told him not to interrupt Kyle on his mission. Besides, he had gotten very curious to see what Kyle was going to come up with, as it could only be something that wasn’t meant to be in the forest in the first place.
