Although it had been a fairly standard walk for the pair on this day, Kyle and Smith had ventured off onto a new road that they hadn’t tried before towards the end of it. It had been Kyle’s idea and curiosity that had caused the change in the route. He must have smelled something in the air, as Smith had already begun to notice a change in his behavior. He wasn’t acting as obediently as usual, and was definitely following a strong scent.

Kyle had never shown disobedience of any kind, so Smith was slightly alarmed by the fact that he wanted to go off on a route that they had never explored before. He was acting differently than usual, and was almost possessed with the idea that he had to track down the thing that had caught his attention. It became clear that he wasn’t going to let up until he had uncovered the surprising thing hidden in the woods.
