The Petrifying Well

Yorkshire, England, is one of the coolest places to be if you desire to see something unique and oddly strange. There you will see water flowing down a wall that is shaped like a skull into a hole. However, something really creepy about this well as anything left in the water tends to turn stone over a five-month period. People have tested the waters to the extreme as some have left teddy bears in the water only to come back and see something rather scary. Some people believe it is a witch spell, while researchers agree that it is linked to a high amount of mineral content in the water that causes that effect.

The Beacon of Maracaibo

The Catatumbo River in Venezuela is one of the most intriguing locations as more than 250 days out of the year, it experiences a lightning storm over it. The lightning never stops, and it starts around 7 pm each night and goes for over 10 hours. So, what could be the cause of this strange activity? Well, researchers believe it is connected with either uranium or a connection with the Andes Mountains and warm trade winds that keep evaporating water and methane due to a close-by oil field. Strange enough, back in 2010, the lightning suddenly stopped one day, and people were wondering what had actually happened. It then came back around six weeks later, and still, no one can tell what caused the long break.
