The Blue Pond of Hokkaido
How would you react to a lake that features green and blue water that has a shimmering feature? You would be surprised… like us! This lake is located in Hokkaido, Japan, and tends to change each time the seasons do. Even though this lake is artificial, it was initially created to be a reservoir. Researchers believe the color of the water comes from high levels of aluminum hydroxide particles existing in the water. This helps the water to reflect light very well.

Mineworkers have to go through this every day, and the blue liquid that flows is really killing them with each passing day. But, what other options do they have?
